Harris to Assist in Leading Premier Local Professional Estate Planning Organization
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (May 31, 2018) - Coral Gables Trust Company (CGTC), the largest independent and privately held trust company headquartered in South Florida with over $1.2 billion in assets under management, is pleased to announce that Managing Director John Harris been appointment to the Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami.
Founded in 1949, the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami is the premier local organization for professionals involved in the estate planning process with a focus on establishing and maintaining the highest professional and educational standards in the community and fostering the public's awareness of the importance of financial planning. Membership consists of professionals from the accounting, financial planning, insurance, law, planned giving, and trust services industries, and provides an active forum for networking with the best practitioners in the field, including high quality seminars and meetings to educate and promote best practices.
Harris, past president of the Broward Estate Planning Council, joins an esteemed group of local estate planning leaders on the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami's 15-member Board of Directors.

The appointment comes on the heels of Harris' recent appointment to the Board of Directors of STEP Miami, a professional association of industry practitioners helping families plan their assets across generations. Additionally, Harris is actively involved with several community and professional organizations and has extensive involvement with The Real Property Probate Trust Law Section, The Elder Law Section and the Tax Section of the Florida Bar, The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, The Coral Gables Community Foundation, Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Miami Chapter of the International Food and Wine Society and the Georgetown University Alumni Association.
