We are committed to strengthening our neighborhoods, improving education, quality of life, and making a positive difference. Our officers and directors are actively involved by providing leadership and/or financial support to many not-for-profit organizations and foundations:

 

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts creates and presents active learning opportunities in music, dance and theater for people of all ages, including workshops, classes, lectures, Q&As, interviews and demonstrations related to the performances and presentations featured in the Center's halls.

 

American Red Cross Florida

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

 

Baptist Health Foundation

The mission of Baptist Health Foundation is to inspire philanthropy and build extraordinary donor relationships in support of excellence, innovation, community wellness and global leadership in healthcare at Baptist Health South Florida, a not-for-profit organization supported by philanthropy and committed to our faith-based charitable mission of medical excellence.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami

The Big Brothers Big Sisters vision is successful in mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to better schools, brighter futures and stronger communities for all. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact. Nationally, Big Brothers Big Sisters serves over 200,000 children, ages 6 through 18, in 5,000 communities across all 50 states.

 

Beacon Council
The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, a public-private partnership, is the official economic development organization for Miami-Dade County. Lead by a professional staff and Board of volunteer community leaders, the organization the organization facilitates business growth and expansion locally, nationally and internationally. The Council was founded in 1985 as an outgrowth of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce to focus on business recruitment, expansion and retention.

Chapman Partnership

Since 1995, Chapman Partnership has been assisting homeless men, women and children in transitioning off the streets of Miami-Dade County and on their way to attaining greater stability and self-sufficiency in their lives.

 

Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce

The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce's mission is to foster and enhance the economic interests and quality of life of the Coral Gables community. Created in 1925 by Coral Gables founder George E. Merrick, the Chamber is comprised of businesses and professionals whose goal is to expand the economy of the area.

 

Deering Estate at Cutler

The Deering Estate at Cutler is a proud participant and supporter of the Environmental Education Providers of Miami-Dade County, Inc. (EEP). The Environmental Education Providers of Miami-Dade County, Inc. was founded in 1997. They are a consortium of local not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, universities, public school educators and administrators from Miami-Dade County, who share a common interest in providing environmental education to our community.

 

Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation

The Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation is a dynamic grant-making foundation in Coral Gables. Invested in innovative, highly successful signature projects in medical genetics and public school healthcare, as well as continuing to support numerous essential community initiatives, the Foundation is committed to its mission to provide funding for programs and projects designed to improve, preserve or restore the health and health care of people living in Miami-Dade County, Florida, with priority given to projects in the Coral Gables community.

 

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Fairchild is dedicated to exploring, explaining and conserving the world of tropical plants. It is one of the premier conservation and education-based gardens in the world and a recognized international leader in both Florida and international conservation. Currently, Fairchild has field programs in over 20 countries, including support to protected areas in Madagascar and Africa and botanic garden development and renovation projects in South and Central America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.

 

Florida Grand Opera

Florida Grand Opera celebrates its 69th anniversary season of continuous performances, and stands as one of the oldest performing arts organizations in Florida. Florida Grand Opera is one of the resident companies of The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, where it presents its Miami performances in the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House.

 

Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Inc.

The Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Inc. serves all girls, ages 5-17, or K-12, in Miami-Dade and Monroe County. They also serve adult members over 18 who accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

 

Governor's Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council

The mission of the Governor's Office of Drug Control and the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council is to establish and institutionalize statewide drug control policy-making based on a process of long-range planning, information gathering, strategic decision-making, continuous oversight, and inter-agency coordinated funding. This strategy is the most far-reaching initiative in the history of Florida's efforts to combat the devastation of substance abuse.

 

Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce

Founded in 1976, the Greater Miami Foreign Trade Zone, Inc. (GMFTZ) is the grantee of the license for the Miami Free Zone - Foreign Trade Zone #32. As grantee of the license, GMFTZ is responsible for making sure that the zone is operated in accordance to the rules and regulations of the federal government. The Miami Free Zone is one of the world's largest privately owned and operated foreign trade zones, featuring over 850,000 square feet of foreign trade zone facilities, warehouse, exhibition showrooms and offices. It is also among a handful of foreign trade zones whose charters are held by a chamber of commerce. The current operator of the Foreign Trade Zone #32 is FTZ World Services LLC.

 

Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation

Founded by marine biologist and artist Guy Harvey, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation is an organization of philanthropists, conservationists, scientists, and educators focused on developing sensible strategies for promoting the conservation of our oceans and nurturing the next generation of marine scientists and guardians of our seas.

 

Informed Families, The Florida Family Partnership

Informed Families offers a wide variety of programs and services across Florida that are aimed at preventing children's substance abuse and promoting healthy behaviors among children and families.

 

Kampong - National Tropical Botanical Garden

The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life through discovery, scientific research, conservation, and education by perpetuating the survival of plants, ecosystems and cultural knowledge of tropical regions.

 

Miami Children's Hospital Foundation

Miami Children's Hospital Foundation (MCHF) is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to create awareness and generate funds for Miami Children's Hospital (MCH), the only licensed specialty hospital in South Florida exclusively for children.

 

New World Symphony of the Performing Arts

The Mission of the New World Symphony is to prepare highly gifted graduates of distinguished music programs for leadership roles in orchestras and ensembles around the world.

 

Palmer Trinity School

Palmer Trinity School, an independent Episcopal school that balances a rigorous college prep program with the development of the spiritual and moral life of students. The core values of our school include academic excellence, spiritual growth and service to others.

 

Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation 

Founded in 1999, Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation is a non-profit housing organization, which owns and develops housing to meet a range of community needs. The Foundation has developed housing for those who are homeless, for those in the workforce who need moderate rents and for those seeking home ownership opportunities.

 

Plymouth Congregational Church Foundation
Plymouth Congregational Church Foundation is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC). Just as various churches within the UCC may hold differing positions, so too do individual members within Plymouth. For well over a hundred years Plymouth has lived in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami. Plymouth is about 800 people who have covenanted to walk together as a Christian community.

The Children's Trust

Its mission is to improve the lives of all children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their futures.

 

The Florida Chamber of Commerce

Established in 1916 as Florida's first statewide business advocacy organization, the Florida Chamber is the state's most powerful federation of employers, chambers of commerce and associations, representing more than 139,000 grassroots members with more than 3 million employees. The Florida Chamber unites Florida's business community with its powerful combination of legislative, grassroots, and political tools.

 

The International SeaKeepers Society

The International SeaKeepers was founded in 1998 by a small group of yacht owners who were horrified by the deteriorating conditions of the seas. Their initial mission was to develop a compact, automated and cost-effective ocean and atmospheric monitoring system to install aboard their yachts, providing data to scientists on the health of the world's oceans. Our innovative SeaKeeper 1000™ is now deployed in more than 45 locations around the world, including yachts, cruise ships, ferry boats, buoys and piers. Inquiries and orders for additional SeaKeeper 1000 units now numbers more than 20. The SeaKeeper 1000™ is endorsed by the United Nations and the World Meteorological Organization.

 

The Miami City Ballet

The Miami City Ballet is an American ballet company based in Miami, Florida at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. It was created in 1986 by former New York City Ballet principal dancer Edward Villella and flourishes today as one of America's most respected ballet companies. The Miami City Ballet features an international ensemble of over 55 dancers, hailing from a diverse array of places including, Cuba, Venezuela, China, Switzerland, France, Japan and Germany. The company has an active repertoire of 88 ballets and performs over 100 times annually. Miami City Ballet serves as the resident ballet company in major theaters in the Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach areas, calling four South Florida counties its home. In addition, the company regularly tours both domestically and internationally.

 

University of Miami Alumni Association

Founded in 1930, the University of Miami Alumni Association is your UM connection to more than 154,000 fellow alumni. Governed by a volunteer board of directors, the UMAA is committed to encouraging lifelong education, providing quality services and programming, and assisting in the continued development and enhancement of the University of Miami.

 

University of Miami Citizens Board

Established in 1946, the University of Miami Citizens Board is a select group of more than 300 business, professional, and civic leaders who actively support the University's philanthropic efforts and promote UM programs. Since its inception, the Citizens Board has raised over $339 million for the University and advanced 87 CB members to its Board of Trustees. Of this year's current UM Trustees, 24 are former or active CB members.

 

United Way of Miami

United Way is working to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. They are focused on improving education, income and health - the building blocks for a good life. Their goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place. They invest in quality programs, advocate for better policies, engage people in the community and generate resources.
